Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci aged six. Her first competitive event was The National Junior Championships in where she placed 13th in 1969. In the year 1970, she took home the title. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she became an overall junior champion. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. She became the first female to do a reverse double salo on the bar with a parallel surface in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment business performing as a figure skater. With her younger sister Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her career in the entertainment business in her teens. Her career began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. These shows included skaters who were followed by musical performances.
